How to Make Time for Your Personal Wellness
Quite often we can be so busy with our working life and our families we forget to make time for our own personal wellness. As a leader, manager, or entrepreneur, you undoubtedly have a lot on your plate — so how can you possibly be expected to make time for healthy habits? That’s a question I get asked often, and what I keep coming back to is this: Developing healthy routines will keep you focused and energetic. It will significantly decrease the number of sick days you have to take. It will make you a more effective and productive person. It’s something you must treat as a priority, and as a non-negotiable in your daily routine.
Treat Your Health Like a Client
A practical way to do this is to treat your personal wellbeing like it’s a client. That means scheduling time for it. Block out an appointment on your calendar each morning to go to the gym. And don’t stop there. Schedule vacation time and “mental health days,” too.
You can’t just hope for your good intentions to carry the day. Most of us live and die by our calendars, so that’s where you need to show that your wellness time is truly important.
